All Grown Up and Doing Fine
On October 18, 1986 I had just gotten a new soccer ball that a friend and I were playing with in my front yard. I ran into the road after it and was hit by a car. The Hustisford EMS crew decided to call Flight For Life because of the severity of my injuries.
As a result of being flown to Froedtert, I survived. I was in a coma for two weeks; when I woke up I was paralyzed on the left side and had brain damage which made my short term memory non-existent. After about five months in the hospital I re-learned how to walk and therapy helped to improve my memory.
Now I am a happy, healthy married 37-year-old. I work for Individualized Care Services helping injured, older, or less fortunate people enjoy the best life possible. I love gardening, waterskiing, and traveling. These are just some of the things I am so grateful to be able to do because of what Flight For Life did for me.
